Davide Tomatis, born in 1991, works as a graphic and type designer. He did his bachelor in Visual Communication at the Polytechnic University of Torino (Italy) and earned a master degree in Type Design from ECAL/Ecole Cantonale d’Art de Lausanne (Switzerland).
His work focuses on typography within type design, book design, print making and teaching, with a strong inclination towards historical based and experimental projects.

Since 2011 he is one of the founding members of the typographical archive and letterpress printshop Archivio Tipografico and of its in-house design studio called Studio 23.56. He teaches typography at IAAD, Istituto d’Arte Applicata e Design and he released the typeface Metodo (which you’re currently reading) through the digital type foundry Optimo.
